"Hard working and talented people peak at the manager level and are pushed out in 2-3 years. Directors and above take full credit for work done by managers (which can happen in other places too) but what is unusual is that reviews are inversely proportional to performance. Token women and minorities are hired to appease certain folks at the top but asked to work 60-80 hour work weeks (while old white men work less than 40) and although such folks are generating all the work output, they are not even taken to meetings to discuss that work output and constantly given negative feedback (though no changes are requested or made to the work output). "

"If you are pretty and have no self-respect, your life here could be decent. Generally, hard working and qualified people are expected to work harder (80 hours weekly), especially at the manager level, while prettier and well-connected folks work 40 hours weekly. Further, and this is true only here, directors take all credit for managers’ work and managers do not get to interact with anyone other than their direct boss. The company also rarely promotes managers and pushes them out every 2-3 years. Might as well give the same hours in banking to get a promotion and double pay out of it. Some pretty women are token promoted to show support of diversity but true power stays with the old white men. "

"The job can consume you. They continue to restructure the organization and downsize, putting more workload on those remaining. There really isn't a healthy balance, and if you try to make one, you're not a team player."

"I was full time most of my career with ELC (and I am now) but was forced to go to a part time role (with more flexibility) so that I could persue intense infertility treatment. This left me without paid maternity leave. I took 6 weeks unpaid leave and returned to my part time role which eventually moved into a full time position. It’s a departure from the career track I was initially on, but better aligns with family goals."

"I have been working for Estee Lauder for almost 5 years and have just returned from 12 weeks maternity leave. Benefits are good but not overreaching. Nothing is exceptional or special. Being a company started by a woman it surprises me that their benefits are at the minimum. Estee Lauder certainly has a lot of work to do if they want to be considered a top company to work for. However, the heart of the people are wonderful. This company is full of lovely, caring souls."

"This is a female-dominated working environment so I feel women and men are treated equally (if women are not treated better.) The leadership is predominantly women; they understand very well women's needs and also less likely to hold stereotypes against women."
