Document, document, document. The only way to prove the toxicity of this workplace is to document. Absent documentation, you will have zero credibility.

While the flexibility for my position was good, I do know for other positions it is not at all flexible. To the credit of some managers, they sought ways to address this, but senior management would not allow any changes -- and senior management has the advantage of very, very flexible work schedules.

Improve the culture, which currently is very toxic. If women complain, it is written off as a woman's inability to handle the rigors of business.

Ryan LLC is a great place to work. Brint Ryan, CEO is amazing. We have strong representation for women in the executive roles: COO, CFO, CIO, General Counsel, and Service Delivery Principals.

There are more white males at the top. I can't tell why this is but it's very noticeable and not encouraging. And then the women who are at the top are white too.

Not yet but the company has no policies specific to California which is concerning. My previous boss here was not great about pregnant women and career trajectory.

While the company is only about 30% female, women have a strong presence in all areas of the company, including Leadership. There is also a women's affinity group that holds events, and great wellness and family friendly benefits.

The software engineers and the technical assemblers and testers are great to work with. This is an R&D environment, with fequent travel between two facilities. Besides the coding, documentation and commuication are done using Jira, Confluence, and HipChat.

February 2016

I built lasting friendships and grew in my career. Yet the glass ceiling is prominent. Expect harassment and expect to be treated as if you asked for it. Beware HR. Many of the people at the company previously worked at Direct Revenue and try to hide it. While Dstillery's culture is different on the surface, much of the egoistical behavior described in this article about Direct Revenue lives on: http://www.bloomberg.com/bw/stories/2006-07-16/the-plot-to-hijack-your-computer
