"The good ole boy network runs rampant in this department. Men rise very quickly to leadership positions and are often paid more than their female counterparts. Proportionately, men occupy a much higher percentage of the leadership positions based on the number of male employees."

"Be clear about where you are in your life stage and what office you'll be working for in choosing whether this is a good fit. Each office within the Department has a different culture; some grind hard and expect non-stop hours, others are more balanced. Some are staffed mostly by political appointees and (young) staffers who approach work as a sprint, others have more career staff who take a marathon/long-term approach. "
