At some point in your career, you will hit a wall. There is no way around it and very few mentors to help women push through those since there are some strong "good old boys club" roots still proudly woven through this company. Be prepared to use what you have learned to find a promotion at another company. This is a very common path for women within the West Michigan furniture industry.

Their talking points on benefits are great, but unless you have a supportive manager/director/vice president etc. that's all it is, talk.

Great place to work, but depends on the position. Some positions especially director roles, leave employees overworked. Have to complete administrative duties and teach full time. 10+hours per day no OT

Flexibility is great for home & work balance. Working from home another plus. Three weeks vacation off the bat is yet another plus (only five company holidays). But company is currently in a transitional period though and struggling to keep up with a positive outlook.

In general this is a great place to work and women are treated fairly. However, when I and other teacher were pregnant we were under physical and mental stresses that could have been avoided.
