"There are incredible people here - starting the the CCO and her team, but the rapid growth of the organization also leads to disjointedness and disconnect, which breeds inner politics and cliques. Growth by acquisition is a fine strategy but having no clear vision of what to do with all the moving parts means there's a mad scramble to secure your place in that first year post sale."

"Culturally the company is not trying to evolve technically, or culturally. They are only interested in acquiring and growing revenue through cross sales, and people are not an investment. There is no 401k match, programs for higher learning, or even training for managers. Top performers are kept, whether man or woman, until there is a way to automate or share responsibility with other company resources that may be more cost effective. This is a numbers driven company, it isn't personal, but it should be very transparent so you know what you are working with. Run by a team of wealthy white Texas males who proudly golf and hunt, there has never been a woman executive in power more than a year, and there is not an initiative to have one. There wasn't a review process in place when I left because what is negotiated prior to being acquired is what you get forever unless there is a comp plan re-org (often), or they need you to compensate for others who leave and are not backfilled. In positions of leadership, you can continue to lead and take on more responsibility, but ongoing growth and title with compensation is rare unless you are an engineer with unique talent that is not replaceable. They may over-compensate a while to maintain critical resources, like right after an acquisition, but it is always temporary while they figure out how to outsource skills and maintain production levels. Contracts with key clients may end a few years in, but by then new company purchases have replaced any holes in revenue. It is well known within the company that women are not represented in positions of leadership and cannot be maintained. Successful and powerful women are not a valued thing at Upland, and it is unfortunate that even good men that witness outrageous and unfair acts against women have remained silent while the women leave in droves. "Unlimited PTO is common in tech, but it seems to be less about flexibility and work-life balance, and more about company savings. Taking vacation without checking in or working, if longer than a few days, is discouraged. I took my first vacation after working without one for 2 years, but was reported to the C-levels as taking too much time during a meeting. The individual asked how my numbers were (sales), and because it was exceeding the quota and leading the company in overall sales that quarter, there was no action taken. Sadly, I had to hear about this from a concerned manager at the top, and not from this executive who commonly mismanaged his power with women, and was known for a passive-aggressive nature. The vacation was only 2 weeks long. This is common. "
