"Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, or to speak your mind in meetings, there are a fair number of women in leadership positions who would gladly join you in a meeting to help amplify what you are saying or observe and give you feedback. "

"Overall the company values work-life balance, flexibility, being inclusive, hiring fairly for diversity, training on unconscious bias, etc... and they talk about it A LOT. Unfortunately, there are sometimes individuals (ex: engineering managers) who seem to ignore this and don't attend the offered training because they don't view it as a part of their job description. "Even though the high-level culture promotes flexibility, but sometimes I feel like my team members don't understand the flexibility I need for daycare, child's sickness, pumping breast milk, etc. I feel like they view me as a slacker for needing that flexibility. "

"Paternity leave is only 4 weeks, I would like to see paternity leave equal to maternity leave (12 weeks). Ideally, both would be longer than 12 weeks because I was not prepared to return to work that soon. The company does seem flexible with some employees to allow them to work from home with a nanny or other caregiver so they can breastfeed throughout the day or whatever they need. "

"Very supportive, inclusive community. The affinity groups (both for women and other groups) are very active, and love all the programs and events designed to support professional growth for women."

"AppNexus is filled with people who are wildly smart, collaborative and believe in hard work. Many companies have a set of values, but AppNexus truly lives and breathes those values - learning and teaching, improving the bigger system, empowering customers and overall making great things happen. "
