It can have its challenges, but it is not unlike any other firm in finance. ERGs are a great way to connect with other women as the firm is full of introverts.

October 2017
Equally qualified male and female candidates are sorted into different tracks from the interview stage. Women are pushed into administrative roles, and sold on the "growth potential" only to find that there is no growth track (or a very small chance of it). Males with similar or less experience are tracked immediately into MA programs. You are not allowed to discuss compensation, and there is no set compensation guide available, so you have no way of determining if you are being compensated fairly. Asking co-workers what they make is a fire-able offense. Maternity leave policy actually got worse in the past few years, and there is no flexibility or work life balance. You cannot work from home ever, so if your child is sick, you need to find a babysitter or take one of your limited sick/ vacation days.

The firm is actually excellent at being there when an exceptional situation happens- death in the family, major medical illness, etc. But the day-to-day requirements are just brutal.

This company was founded by men, and is still a men-centered environment with all executive positions controlled by men. It is an old-school, conservtive firm where the tone is serious.

November 2015
There is little to no female leadership and I did not feel I was given opportunities to advance. I would have had to wait for the old white men to retire.
