People pleaser? Yep, that was me. Actually, I nearly accepted a job that wasn’t a good fit because I felt bad disappointing my would-be boss.
I don’t think about it much now but at the time it felt heavy...like I was letting this woman down. The guilt was terrible.
But can you imagine if I would have taken that job for a stranger I had met one time...because I felt bad?
Sounds ridiculous, right?
Thankfully, I’ve grown significantly since then, but this story is relevant today because so many moms take roles or stay in positions for someone else. It’s never about you, is it?
You’ll continue to stay miserable so you don’t make waves, won’t you?
But can you afford to keep this up? How much more can you take of doing what makes you unhappy? IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU THOUGHT ABOUT YOURSELF.
