Salary - when it comes up in an interview Nowadays, this comes up in the interview usually first round.

I didn't think you were rude. That was someone else. I'm the one that asked you the question btw. The recruiter just told me the salary of $94k. No band or range. No starting at, or tops at... So when I told her $130k, she almost seemed like she was caught. I've been interviewing for months and never had this happen to me. So I didn't know if I was just overreacting by withdrawing my interest or she was not giving all the info.

No, I know it wasn't you who made the comment about me being rude. It didn't occur to me when I made the comment that it might come across that way (the other poster certainly seemed to think so) and I just wanted to make sure you knew that was not my intent. I think it's probably that you were outside of the salary band - there's no reason to talk about the lower end of the range. I've done that myself - and just given the highest I can pay as the target salary if they're outside of my range. Please let me know if you have any questions. GOOD LUCK IN THE JOB SEARCH!!
