Glad to be here. I am someone who was diagnosed with ADHD late in life (it explains SO MUCH!). I am an executive assistant and this little 'quirk' is both a hinderance and a super power.
My challenges are to keep everything organized. This means that I have redundancies everywhere. Not only do I have calendar reminders, but I have a living spreadsheet, regular meetings, and hard deadlines to keep me on task.
As a superpower, I can manage emergencies really well as my hyper-focus kicks in and everything becomes 'eye on the prize'. Now if I could just focus other things like that :)
Looking forward to learning from you all
Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological variations can and should be recognized and respected rather than pathologized and in need of "curing". Neurological differences that fall under the neurodiversity umbrella include: Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyscalculia, Dysomnia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Tourette Syndrome, and others. All our brains work a bit differently, and it's not necessarily a bad thing!
