What small victories are you celebrating??
One of the hardest things about the job search is that it's really hard to measure your progress.
Your Linkedin Profile and resume are probably getting viewed, but you might not get a phone call.
You don't get the job, but you were a considered a strong candidate.
In every difficult challenge, it helps me to remember the baby steps I have taken. And often it's thinking about the other tough journeys that ended up working out to remember that I am moving forward in my current challenges.
That being said, what small victories are you celebrating????
It can be job search related or not!!

Hi Ruth! It sounds like you may be looking for a sponsor. A sponsor is often someone who will actually connect you with people and put you forth for opportunities, whereas a mentor is more for information. A lot of times both of these relationships for formed over time. Kind of like a friendship, they start with a smaller connection. In order to form these relationships, join groups that meet regularly. I made a pivot away from teaching myself and have moved 3 times during my career. I am sure with this energy you will find someone!
Also, I am excited to see someone put an ask out to this group, as many have been too shy! I would be glad to hop on a phone call with you. I will send you my info in a DM.
congratulations Ruth! Career pivots are the ultimate empowerment play -changing to something that interests you brings new spring to your step.
As far as looking for a mentor, can you be more specific about the skills you are looking for to learn from a mentor? What can you offer in exchange?
good luck!
