I followed a company on LinkedIn after I heard their CEO talk on TV about really interesting work they are doing. Now I can see that an exec at the company has checked my profile a few times after I liked their posts. Should I reach out and say I admire your company and if you have any jobs (website shows no open jobs) I'd be interested in working for you????
I completely agree with Sarah! When you ask about jobs, people either get nervous because they feel the pressure to decide if they can hire you or in this case, the CEO may think, why doesn't she just apply online? It may seem intimidating to contact this person, but I swear that most likely they won't even remember it unless you actually meet. I had a client who reached out the founder of a very huge and successful VP firm and he invited her an event he was going to be at and they met in person. She had no leadership background at all- he simply admired her initiative!
I wouldn't mention the views or asking for a job, I would suggest an informational interview inquiry instead. That connection, when you do apply for a role, will work in your favor.
