I just retired after 23 years of active duty....what are your lessons learned as you transitioned from active duty?
Congratulations!!! Just some advice...take time off and enjoy yourself, your family and life. My husband recently retired from civil service (after an active duty career)... Military members are used to routine. Hubby went a little crazy not having anything to do...then depression hit. So, we started a list of things that needed doing AND added some fun things in between. Have things to look forward to and to celebrate. Everyone says, oh I can't wait til I retire....but then it hits you, "what is my purpose in life now that I am retired" (AND still YOUNG!!!) He is very happy now, but there truly were a few bumps in the road adjusting. I wish you the best of luck!
