Responsibilities
This fast paced, performance driven team of various cross-functional disciplines and scientists focus on the development of PepsiCo's diverse portfolio of beverage ingredients, enabling product categories to bring innovative ideas to fruition and making a direct impact on the organization's success.
As a member of the Ingredient - Application, Performance and Specification team, you will utilize your knowledge in chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to develop internal ingredient specifications describing the quality performance, biomarkers and functionality of ingredients used to manufacture beverages globally. Leverage internal and external resources to develop or update existing ingredient specifications that are clear, concise and support the quality needs of production groups to consistently manufacture "Right First Time" products.
Perform technical feasibility assessments on new ingredients to drive innovation, productivity or improve quality
Prioritize and balance multiple competing projects and specification activities
Provide technical guidance and propose resolution that efficiently meet development initiatives for innovation and existing brand platforms
Assess, respond, and escalate emerging business critical issues to avoid material supply
shortages, outages, and/or production delays
Develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships across internal PepsiCo teams and external partners including vendors and 3rd party labs, as necessary, to lead and influence teams to reach project objectives and timelines
Develop data analytics to drive new opportunities that enable simplification of complex scenarios and development of breakthrough ideas to drive enhancement in specification performance metrics
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $79,800 - $133,450.
Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
B.S in Science or Engineering related discipline with 3-5 years of work experience in Research and Development, Product Development or Commercial Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) or M.S. with 1-2 years of work experience
Experience in food/beverage/ingredient research & development function desirable (functional ingredients)
Experience with project management techniques a plus
Intermediate competency in computer skills involving MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint
Experience in IT systems e.g. SAP
Experience in assessing scenarios and feasibility of IT programs to deliver meaningful specifications relevant for business application.
Solid understanding of ingredients, their application across food and beverages to maximize return and CPG business end to end right execution.
Fluent in ingredient specifications requirements.

Solid fundamental understanding of Food Safety, Microbiology, Regulatory Affairs, and Analytical
Protection of intellectual property and excellent technical writing acumen
Understanding of ingredient stability and interactions, sensory assessments, supply chain implications, economics, and regulatory market compliance
Ability to self-initiate and manage multiple project tasks independently to meet business objectives
Strong time management, organization skills, forward thinking and consistently meeting target timelines
Ability to interpret and access complex technical information and issues and seek alignment towards workable solutions
Demonstrated ability to function effectively in environments with rapidly changing priorities, and to exhibit personal leadership that positively influences self and peers
