This position is located at our Plano Global R&D facility and is part of the Measurement Sciences (Analytical & QA Sciences) team. The focus is on method development coordination and providing analytical insights for product development and research workstreams within PepsiCo Foods North America. This includes performing basic to advanced analysis of all types of food materials and ingredients. In addition, you will support all teams within Measurement Sciences for projects requiring method development and collaborate with cross functional partners and leverage analytical instruments, methodologies, and procedures to deliver technically sound and accurate data in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Manage internal method development requests and provide consultation to clients
Develop a working knowledge of analytical instruments
Perform the testing of samples leveraging internal and external capabilities as appropriate, and capture data into a laboratory information management system
Partner with product development to consult on ways of analyzing PepsiCo food products
Partner with product development to drive key business objects in conformance with approved methodology for projects
Collaborate with product development, operations, and analytical partners as appropriate
Conduct analysis in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with minimal supervision
Investigate and apply new technologies to provide analytical measurements that meet business needs
Learn new test methods and train others
Document review and management of PepsiCo methods
Stay current in area of expertise and area of project related research by reading and interpreting scientific literature and IP, and actively engage in relevant external scientific organizations
Collaborate across the Measurement Sciences global function to ensure alignment and consistency across processes and practices
Demonstrate adherence to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records and documentation and assure the reliability of measurement systems by using appropriate GLP
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $64,300 - $107,650

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or related discipline with experience in a laboratory environment
Analytical food chemistry experience
Travel up to 10% as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Internship or working experience in an analytical lab setting
Experience in Food & Beverage industry
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems and documentation tools
Knowledge and experience of a wide range of technical disciplines and analytical instrumentation, as well as statistical analysis
Highly developed critical thinking skills are required to solve technical problems
Sound understanding of Experimental Design
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively in a timely manner in presentations and emails
Ability to think and act on their own, while communicating needs and results appropriately
Must understand and follow safe handling of hazardous chemicals and have an appreciation of the normal hazards associated with laboratory work
