    Responsibilities

    Reports to the Director, Global Design Innovation, the Senior Design Strategist works in collaboration with other Design Innovation practitioners & cross functional team members to effectively develop and deliver business & design strategies and compelling designed experiences (brand, product, packaging, retail, merchandising) that have strategic business value.

    Design Thinking Practitioner: The Design Innovation Senior Strategist is responsible for the delivery of effective design thinking tasks for PepsiCo's innovation projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to drive design strategy & research tasks to completion independently and in collaboration with others. Candidates must be interested in learning how design strategy is applied to a corporate environment. The Senior Design Strategist understands innovation & design methodologies (tools, techniques). They are interested in applying design thinking broadly - thinking about the needs across the entire system - consumers, customers, business, supply chain, manufacturing, environment.

    • Executes design research: creation of screeners/critera, research protocol/activities.

    • Deep dives into initial data gathering and analysis. Identifies connections between people, attitudes/beliefs, preferences/behavior, brands, products & experiences.

    • Contributes to the generation of insights through discussion & feedback (meaningful conclusions that have clear project implications from data)

    • Contributes to the generation of solutions through ideation, co-creation, and workshops with cross-functional teams.

    • Articulate design vision through prototyping, scenario modeling, strategic roadmaps, etc.

    • Work collaboratively to build relationships and get things done through formal and informal channels

    • Conducts competitive audits, trend analysis, and secondary research to identify opportunities for brand, experience and product

    • Owns the development of content for ideation activities. Tests and refines ideation activities.

    • Generates multiple ideas for prototyping & testing stimulus

    • Assists with project management and workshop planning & execution

    • Proven ability to multi-task, work in ambiguous and dynamic work environment; is comfortable with risk and uncertainty

    Compensation and Benefits:
    • The expected compensation range for this position is between $74,800 -$125,250 based on a full-time schedule
    • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
    • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually
    • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Design Research, Design Strategy, Innovation and/or Consulting

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Compelling presentation and storytelling skills

    • Comfortable with left-brain and right-brain thinking - described as a strategic creative or a creative strategist

    • Enjoy thinking strategically and getting into the details of execution

    • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
