What You Will Do
Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support, including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, product software design, verification & validation and engine and flight test support. The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Senior Engineer to join our world-class organization.
Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions to control dynamic mechanical, power, and electrical systems.
Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into systems or software requirements and designs.
Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs.
Perform software verification including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results.
Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10% domestically.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of engineering experience or software experience, or an Advanced Degree in STEM and 3 years of engineering experience or software experience,.
2 years of programming experience with Java, C/C++, R, Python, Linux or DOORS.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering
Experience in gas turbine jet engine operation and sub-systems.
2 years of experience with modeling tools for complex systems NPSS, Dymola, or Simulink.
Experience with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design.
