    The Principal Model Based Project Engineer, GATORWORKS 6th Gen Digital Transformation, will play a key role in advancing executing the Digital 6th Gen (D6G) Roadmap to mature new digital solutions that reimagine our core business processes so we can deliver world-class propulsion programs faster and more efficiently than our competition. We are seeking a highly collaborative individual to support our Digital Engineering capability demonstration team to further strengthen digital transformation throughout Military Programs.

    GATORWORKS was established to meet an ambitious and urgent goal: To cut the cost and lead-time of P&W Technology and Product Development. We have already demonstrated that it is possible to achieve this objective through a combination of Agile practices, digital technologies, and innovative thinking.

    The MB-Project Engineer will work alongside various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the requirements phase through design, manufacturing and validation, all leveraging the latest digital capabilities to solve real problems using DIGITAL. The position will report to the GATORWORKS Director, 6th Gen Digital Strategy. This onsite role is based in East Hartford, CT.

    What You Will Do:

    • Work in an Agile environment, on a dedicated team of cross-functional individuals, who work from a single prioritized backlog to deliver sprint and increment commitments

    • Drive Agile practices to decompose project requirements into the work required to implement digital thread between Model Based Engineering (MBE) disciplines on the given projects, and to highlighting key findings and potential improvements to project stakeholders and subject matter experts

    • Collaborate across team members, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to drive integrations between enterprise systems (including PLM, ERP, MES) and demonstrate end-to-end data connectivity

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    • Availability to travel (~4 trips per year to attend Program Increment Planning events).

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Experience as an Agile Scrum Master, Agile Product Owner.

    • Currently an RTX CORE Champion with experience as a Change Agent leading continuous improvements.

    • Previous PW CIPT, IPT or Systems integration experience.

    • Experience with Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO); especially with Teamcenter NX for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Simulation Lifecycle Management (SLM) platforms to manage, track and optimize design workflows; experience with FEA software and processes for Aero/Thermal/Structural such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools and structural, thermal, or aerodynamic processes on components or systems, including pre-processing design data, submitting FEA jobs to HPC clusters, and post-processing results; experience in CAD interoperable file formats (STEP 242, QIF, JT).

    • Existing security clearance.

    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills to be successful in an Agile team setting.

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
