The Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) Department is looking for a Modeling and Simulation Developer with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Land and Air Defense Systems and Simulations. The IAMDS Department supports Raytheon by providing world class Weapon Systems Engineering. Domain Expertise includes Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Network Design, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. In our experience, diversity of talent and thought is what drives innovation, and we are looking for motivated engineers who will be responsible for performing Systems Engineering studies and trades, supporting System Requirements definition and analysis, algorithm development, integration, test and evaluation.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Communicate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate design plans and requirements analysis.
Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
Develop and maintain modeling tools incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with complex time domain elements.
Incorporate radar system concepts including detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms to model their behaviors and performance.
Incorporate effector system concepts including guidance and fuzing to model their behaviors and performance.
Incorporate radar, effector, and command and control system concepts for performance analysis against various threats, to determine system performance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 2 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Advanced knowledge of complex Digital Signal Processing with the ability to develop complex time domain signal models for use in design support and requirements analysis.
Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors
Experience debugging/working within large, unfamiliar codebases
SW Design/Development experience with:
C++, object oriented programming
Experience with Linux, Scripting, Automated Testing
Ability to perform design trade-offs (prior to implementation) with the following considerations:
Experience with Computer Memory/Memory management, Efficiency and Readability
Qualifications We Value:
Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, Aerospace
Knowledge of Air Defense systems (for example - Patriot System)
Experience/Familiarity with: AFSIM (plugin development/scripting), Code Optimization, Python, Bash, GoogleTest framework for automated testing, Statistics for testing models
Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills
Demonstrate a desire to develop SW to best SW design practices and standards

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
