    Position summary

    to production builds, and lifecycle support of Raytheon products. We have an opportunity for a Senior Principal RF Design Engineer who is seeking to utilize their academic background and professional experience in RF / Microwave system theory and design to help develop the next generation of Raytheon's Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.

    What You Will Do:

    • Architecture development, requirements analysis, hardware design, hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems.

    • Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.

    • Design and optimization of RF circuits - either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).

    • Working with interdisciplinary teams - power, digital, mechanical, etc.

    • Schematic capture and RF routing.

    • Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities.

    • Cost and schedule management plus proposal writing.

    • This 1st shift position will be 100% on-site and based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' of prior work experience.

    • Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test.

    • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB).

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.

    • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, which includes yield and margin analysis.

    • Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.

    • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations.

    • Technical background in any of the following areas:

      • Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning

      • Filter design and fabrication

      • Circuit card assembly and fabrication

      • High speed data converter test / characterization

      • Low Noise RF source design and test experience

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
