Senior Systems Test Engineer - Ejection Seating (Onsite)

The Collins Aerospace Ejection Seating business is the leader in providing a safe and robust Ejection Seating System to domestic and foreign customers alike. Currently, we are in the process of modernizing fleets to the upgraded ACES 5 design, providing a safer ejection system to ensure those who are born to fly, live to walk away.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join us as a Test Engineer to support all phases of ejection seat product development lifecycle including the bid, design, development, verification & validation. The preferred candidate will have experience with hardware development for military/DoD customers.
What You Will Do (with limited supervision):
Interpret test requirements, develop and maintain test procedures, identify test and document test practices.
Responsible for assuring tests are conducted in accordance with approved test plans and established safety procedures.
Works as a liaison between systems engineers & seat designers, in the development and qualification testing of ACES ejection seat components and subsystems.
Ensures successful and accurate data collection, documentation and reporting of test results.
Collaborate with engineers on design, fabrication and modification of test fixtures and test articles in support of test programs and customer requirements.
Participate in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification.
Plan, conduct, collect and document testing results. Analyze data to drive issues to root cause.
Assist in researching and evaluating facility processes to reduce operating costs and improve on collection of test data.
In support of assigned projects; use agile tools (like Jira) to complete the planning, execution of assigned tasking for each sprint (increment).
The position requires strong interpersonal skills, high degree of comfort with ambiguity, good project discipline, excellent oral and written communication skills, high computer/technology proficiency, and the ability to work independently.
Adheres to all Collins Aerospace safety rules and codes of conduct.
Performs other duties as required.
Travel up to 25% to execute product performance and hardware testing.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Experience executing product testing on physical assets for performance and environmental testing.
Strong analytical skills including knowledge of physics, dynamics and data reduction and preliminary analysis.
Experience coordinating technical projects and work teams.
Experience presenting technical subject matter to internal and external customers.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with aircraft cockpit, crew station, escape system, ejection seat and crew systems.
Experience working on military programs.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
