    A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

    • Lead and perform evaluations of meters, Instrument Transformers, Meter Adaptors, customer demand response devices and other associated equipment to validate functionality and ensure, safety, reliability, and accuracy.

    • Drive projects to create new SCE standards, covering design, construction, operations, training, and tools. This includes field training and communication procedures.

    • Engage stakeholders and vendors to resolve device hardware, and implementation issues.

    • Conduct root cause analysis of Field led Flash Incidents and provide mitigation strategies.

    • Act on SCE's behalf to ensure that new product(s) meet SCE specifications and testing requirements.

    • Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, technical specialists, and field personnel.

    • Identify and resolve issues related to projects' development and implementation success.

    • Partner with internal and external organizations such as IT, Cybersecurity, technical field specialists, Engineering, and vendors to specify, evaluate, test, and deploy new technology solutions.

    • Ensure effective knowledge transfer/lessons learned from pilot projects into production systems.

    • Provide technical support to metering field personnel and other stakeholders.

    • Actively participate in external groups (ANSI, EEI, AEIC, IEEE, IEC) to drive new technologies and processes.

    • Keep abreast of relevant technologies to support SCE's roadmaps and initiatives.

    The essentials

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field.

    • Seven or more years of engineering experience.

    • Seven or more years of experience evaluating, testing, and deploying metering devices.

    The preferred

    • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.

    • California P.E. License

    • Familiarity with ANSI C12 Standards

    • Experience deploying AMI infrastructure. You should know

    • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
