    Position summary

    support of Transmission, Distribution, and Vegetation Management to evaluate their potential to affect environmental resources and take appropriate steps to ensure compliance prior to the release of work. The position will contribute to cross-functional teams to ensure the effective implementation of the environmental clearance process in collaboration with project stakeholders. This role helps craft and operationalize the Environmental Department's new compliance support model and, track department goals and success measures, and solve problems to advance clearance projects and provide on-time and on budget project delivery while maintaining environmental compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop environmental compliance and permitting strategies.

    • Be responsible for consultant scope, budget, and invoicing and work with contractors to ensure accuracy, high quality and resolution of issues at a program level.

    • Develop and contribute to the development of technical resource area processes and/or guidance for projects to ensure consistency and standardization of resource impact analysis and compliance implementation.

    • Responsible for managing and coordination of multi-disciplinary technical teams and external consultants to perform environmental analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Serve as a subject matter expert with a functional knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act. Provide interpretation of environmental regulations and rules for compliance programs (e.g., air quality, biology, coastal permitting, construction stormwater, cultural resources, wetland permitting, etc.) that affect the environmental review process for projects.

    • Experience as a subject matter expert in effectively managing business risks, interacting with agencies, and identifying new and existing opportunities to minimize operational impacts. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, cross-functional project teams with internal and external stakeholders.

    The essentials

    • Ten years or more of experience with environmental compliance and permitting.

    The preferred

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental studies or related subject area.

    • Ten years or more of experience in environmental compliance, permitting or project management.

    • Ten years or more of experience in supervising projects with environmental resource compliance requirements within various subject areas (e.g., air quality, biology, coastal permitting, construction stormwater, cultural resources, wetland permitting, etc.).

    • Project Management certification.

    • Lean Six Sigma.

The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
