A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Develop preliminary scope of work based on project summary/description provided from project sponsors; develop one-line diagrams and plot plan drawings, as exhibits, in support of the preliminary scope of work
Schedule/conduct pre-engineering job walk meetings with stakeholders
Prepare and publish pre-engineering job walk meeting minutes.
Prepare/Review/Approve/Publish design specification documents.
Prepare and submit order specification forms for major electrical equipment in a timely manner to meet material want dates.
Manage various engineering contractors and work with those contractors to ensure scope completeness, consistency and quality of design, delivery milestone dates, and cost.
Review, evaluate, and approve engineering contractor design cost estimates on direct award and/or competitive bidding projects.
Review and approve contract work purchase order request, invoices, and change orders.
Provide engineering support for on-ongoing operational needs to support service reliability and meet other related compliance requirements such as emergent projects and/or stakeholders request and emergencies as well as North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance and reporting.
The essentials
Must have graduated or graduate by June 2024 with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
Engineering experience
The preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Emphasis.
Experience with AutoCAD to design and create drawings
Knowledge of substation best practices and power industry standards
Perform engineering/design assessments and evaluations and provide reports and recommendations to internal clients and project team members.
Knowledge on infrastructure replacement, distribution/load growth and bulk power projects

This position's work mode is hybrid.u202f The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
