  • "Employees who are entitled to SMP and who have in excess of one year's service with the firm at the 15th week prior to EWC may, at the firm's discretion, be entitled to firm Maternity Pay. Firm Maternity Pay consists of the following: • First eight weeks of maternity leave paid at 100% of your normal basic salary; • Subsequent four weeks of maternity leave paid at 50% of your normal basic salary. These payments are paid at the discretion of the firm and are inclusive of any SMP entitlement. Payment of this discretionary firm maternity pay is not a statutory requirement and will be subject to Income Tax and National Insurance. After twelve weeks, SMP will not be enhanced by the firm and the usual rates of SMP (as above) apply. 2.6.3" - Anonymous
