I'm currently in the process of job hunting, but it's proving to be quite challenging. I reside in California where the unemployment rate is notably high. It's perplexing to me that despite the seemingly good economy as depicted in reports and conversations, I'm still unable to secure employment. Initially, I was receiving numerous interview opportunities during my first few months of searching, but now it seems as though there's been a significant drop-off. Given my age, I can't help but wonder if ageism is playing a role in this struggle.

Has anyone else found the job market pretty much non-responsive if yoive worked for many years with 15+ years experience? Is it that the job market is slow or has anyone found ageism or recruiters ghosting you when you give them your resume, even if your resume is optimized by resume and ATS experts? I have! Just curious as I’ve always had offers after 3 applications, yet over the last year I’ve not received but 1-2 interviews after 100s of applications and resumes sent/applied for?
