I can never seem to be truly satisfied with a job in the past few years. My first long term job lasted for 19 years. I started when I was in my 20’s. The next company was 5 years, and since then I haven’t stayed anywhere more than 2 years. I’m getting itchy at my current job after only 1 year. It seems I am never satisfied, and the biggest reason is work-life balance. I didn’t care when I was younger, and now I do. I apply for positions that say they have this, but than it goes away. I made a very good living. With 10 years to go until I retire, I am looking to kick it down a notch and find an opportunity that is local (commuting to NYC is not fun), and not as aggressively fast paced as my past roles. I am willing to take a substantial pay cut to do something that I enjoy and have a better work/life balance. How do I communicate this to a potential employer without sounding like a slacker? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have, you may already or will soon begin to doubt your own perception, abilities, and sense of
