I’m not sure if I’m in the wrong line of work or not or what to do about it..?

Embracing constant change and innovation!

Can employees still change job after a few months pregnant? Since under FMLA you have to work for the same employer for over 12 month or 1250 hours. How can we qualify for any paid maternity leave if we do change jobs ? Or we just stuck at our current job because of the situation?

Should I pitch a new role in my current department?

Currently I am 5.5 months pregnant but just started a new job in NYC in July. I signed my contract in June but the company was not ready with paperwork to bring me on early (public company). I just saw that I was denied 3 months leave. I understand I don't deserve the company's 6 months leave but now I am only getting 6 weeks maternity leave. Is this something I should bring up to the Benefits team or should I just accept the 6 weeks.

I just came back Maternity leave ,afterjoining within 2 months I was asked to be put in PIP as I was not performing as per their expectations despite being the highest performer in the team post joining but when I showed the HR the metrics the manager had no words and they forced to me pay cut and reduce my work hours.

Congratulations! They cannot ask about you being pregnant. I was 7 months pregnant when hired, and I was the one to mention it in my interview. You can ask for details on the benefits, but many employers do not give you maternity leave until one year of employment. You may have to burn through vacation days and/or FMLA (reduced/no pay) for your leave.

Contract cancelled because of childcare arrangements (or lack thereof specifically).

Recently my daughter went to HR to file paperwork for maternity leave - all was handled correctly until...they stated to her that she would be responsible for her part of the insurance while out on leave - that part was fine but then they stated that if she did not return after the leave she would be responsible to pay back the company the money they paid for insurance while she was out.

For the past year I have worked contiuously, whether from home or the office, regardless of the Covid pandemic or any lockdowns.
