It truly depends upon the contract you're working for. If you're with corporate, it sounds wonderful. I'm with a military contract, and they have the old military mindset that women are good but men are better. So just be careful, or make sure you're ready to fight to climb the ladder.

Haven’t needed maternity leave so not sure but many female coworkers have no problem working in caring for children and working around work to do what’s needed

Depends on the contract. The company is fine but some contracts are in hostile workplaces.
