"Again it depends on who you work for. Many groups allow great flexibility, others not so much. I think the "Work from anywhere" thing does not translate to all teams at all."

"If you have a good manager that expresses interest in you, provides feedback, and helps protect you from the horrid politics then you will enjoy the flexible nature of work here. But it's very difficult to get to know co-workers in a remote environment and the conditions for getting promoted are fully mysterious. Many employees who have been here for years have developed BS tolerance skills, and are able to ignore a lot of the hypocrisy of the culture and the constant change and internal networking that is required to move up."

"Cisco is a great company with many wonderful benefits. Prepare to be worked to death and talked over by many men. If you can handle that, it is worth it."

We are sorry to hear about your personal experience and appreciate you taking the time to inform us. While Cisco is focused on cutlure, we understand we always have room for improvement. With that said, there is still work to be done to ensure our culture resonates to all teams. I would recommend reaching out to People's & Communities (either in-person or through our anonymous feedback system) to make sure we can address any current culture situations that need improving. In regards to your confusion on parental leave benefits, we do have some great benefits in Germany. I recommend reaching out to your local team for more information if needed.

"I worked in Cisco as software engineer for 4 years, I really like the culture here.
As a single mom, I feel very supported by my managers, coworkers, I really like the flexibility of working from home, so that I can take care of my kids.
I also like the family friendly event held by Cisco, such as family fun day, bring kids to work day, etc.
Benefits are great too, medical insurance and 401K, etc."
