People genuinely care that your personal life is happy and comfortable, whether for you that means friends, significant other, or children. Generally, if there's some flexibility they can offer to improve your situation, it's given without question.

I've heard positive feedback from women about being able to take time off following the birth of a child. I've also known women to have job security upon their return from maternity leave, which is also a plus!

I can't speak for all of Cisco, but in my experience, the flexibility comes with the trust you cultivate with your manager and the ability to get your work done. Of course, expectations change with each position, however, I've always felt I got the flexibility I needed to balance work/life responsibilities.

Cisco allows flexibility for work/life integration. Strong female executives provide inspiration on a regular basis.

It avoids the "bro" culture so common in other big tech companies. I think the biggest perk is how flexible they are with hours/wfh. Finally, the CEO has recently added multiple women to his leadership team which is great to see.

It's crazy flexible - unless there's something I really need to be in the office for, I can work from home whenever I want. I also usually leave early to avoid traffic and finish the day from home.

While the tech industry has a relatively low percentage of women as does Cisco, the company recognized the need for people from all points of view and all backgrounds. They have great policies, great compensation, and it's truly a family where we have each other's backs. Is it perfect? No, because we're humans and we're not perfect. But it's the closest thing I've seen.

Is Cisco perfect? No. But they acknowledge that and actively work on it - focusing on pay parity, diversity in tech, holding events like Girls Power Tech, etc. I can't be prouder of the diversity of our executive team. I've worked at a lot of companies where it's clear that they are doing things to check a box. Cisco really cares.

There will be gender pay gap, and difficulty earning respect and having a voice if you are in engineering. In engineering, there will also be difficulty in getting promotions. There are no women in leadership roles above first line manager in my organization of 400.
