"Their benefits aren't the best because they're run like a traditional company (not a startup or young tech firm)—think 10 days of PTO to start, lack of bonus for editorial roles, no fitness/gym benefit, no laptops for those working at a magazine brand—so these are things you should try to negotiate into your offer. Flexibility widely ranges between groups, so that's another thing to ask about during the interview process."

"I've noticed this is really dependent on the group/team. At a magazine brand, there's less flexibility because their schedules are strictly tied to a monthly production/shipping schedule. In other groups, such as digital media, there's more flexibility to work from home, etc."
