"Develop a thick skin. Learn to fight back - with grace if possible. There are a LOT of fragile male egos, sooner you learn to work\communicate with them, easier it will get for you. Use email to confirm, do not rely on verbal conversations. Don't take it personally. Whatever "it" is and learn to meditate, you will need that! :)"

"Flexibility is possible, depends on how you work it out with your manager and at the time of hiring. Would highly recommend getting it in writing, there are a lot of "verbal" agreements that when it comes down to it are not respected. Have it written in your contract. As a woman the only time you really have to get your say\way is at the time of hiring, so get it in writing."

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are always looking to improve, and we appreciate your input in the process. We are disappointed to hear that you do not feel women are treated equally at the company and lack leadership positions. We take your feedback seriously, and we hope you know we are taking initiatives to foster a more inclusive and supportive working environment. We have created HALE, a program to enhance work-life balance, as well as our Career Mosaic resource, which aids all employees in advancing in the career path of their choice. "1. You can refuse a project - I was told; "Distance or your commute is not reason to refuse a project" 50 extra miles one way equates to 3 hours in our area - ONE WAY . So yes; it does. 2. Learn about the country/company culture before-hand if possible. Ex: It's customary for American teams to donate to off-shore team parties because some believe you are overcompensated 3. Take advantage of online training if you have time. 4. Restrict the number of meetings you will attend with offshore. Do not be talked into both early AM AND late PM calls; a recipe for burn out."

"This is why I left: - Our original project went on hold - I was rushed to a second project - I asked not to be on the new project, because it added an additional 55 miles to my commute one - way ; which added an ADDITIONAL 1.5 to my morning commute. The regional manager didn't believe that was a good enough reason, (note; when you are local, you are not compensated for mileage) and my manager didn't support me - Co -workers were on the bench - I lost my mother - Original project re-launched - Co - worker filling my role on the original projects Visa ran out, and processing was taking extra time - My project was wrapping up - I requested time off - Instead I was asked to overlap projects to get up to speed - My managers joked in the first evening call with 30+ people, that it was like trading football players - I found a new job immediately "
