"Dont believe what this website tells you because it's a joke. I worked at Meijer distribution for 4 years. I worked in every building. In the labor intensive and temperature intensive areas they pay the same yet you won't see women. Women get placed in easy non- labor intensive areas and paid exactly the same as men. For example multiple times I was placed on unloading docks where women would be placed with me to basically slap stickers on the goods that I unloaded for the same pay. They literally stood there and talked while slapping stickers as I killed myself unloading boxes up to 80 pounds. Women were always placed in A mod which is an area where you fill containers with tiny lite products like pills and such for the same pay..On the other hand men were placed in areas lifting large team lift products by themselves. Women are not treated unfairly they a coddled for the same exact pay. Women always view themselves as victims and it's getting old. "

"Meijer used to be the best grocer/discount store to work at in Michigan. But in the past 15 years upper management has bought into a WalMart style of viewing employees as disposable. Employees *are* unionized (a mostly good thing), but the union is weak thanks to right-to-work law being enacted (at least in Michigan). "
