"Pros: Great for parents, new moms and dads, and other types of caregivers. Excellent benefits, work/life balance, and parental leave. Bro culture is not tolerated here. Plenty of women visible throughout the org (particularly satisfied with this in the engineering department). Cons: Pay is a little lower than industry standard, be sure to negotiate strongly on salary and equity when you join because there are no bonuses and equity refreshers are minimal. Not enough women and underrepresented groups at C-level leadership. Some hourly positions like customer operations have much worse work/life balance and benefits."

There are a lot of great benefits re: healthcare, time off (PTO and parental leave), and the internal Experience team puts on a lot of interesting events, even virtually. Your experience here will vary widely based on your department and manager, which feels pretty typical of larger companies. I'd tell other women that I feel comfortable being myself here and feel like my strengths are recognized; however, I've seen criticism hold women back / delay promotions while I've seen some men given more leeway / been promoted despite negative feedback. Very specifically to now, my biggest questions about next steps are how working parents/caregivers (specifically women) can be supported if COVID keeps schools/daycares closed in the fall so we don't lose tenured and top tier talent while also not shifting untenable workloads to non-care-providing team members.
