At Squarespace, we value the health and wellness of our employees. In addition to 20 weeks of paid family leave for primary and non-primary caregivers, we offer flexible vacation and working from home policies, flexible working hours, and 100% benefits coverage for employees. We also offer a global and inclusive Fertility & Adoption benefit that covers 100% of related medical and legal expenses up to $10,000 annually, with a lifetime maximum of $20,000.
Employee resource groups (ERGs) play a major role in supporting our communities at Squarespace. Women at Squarespace is our largest ERG, whose mission is to foster community while celebrating and advocating for women-identifying employees through inclusive programming, employee engagement initiatives, and mentorship building activities. The group provides networking opportunities for career advancement, programming for Women’s History Month and a career ladder that offers transparency around our trajectories at the company.
Diversity & Inclusion at Squarespace
At Squarespace, we believe in the power of the individual to make great things and we exist to help people with creative ideas to stand out and succeed — a vision that starts from within. As a company, we are committed to building and developing diverse teams so that we can intimately understand, and create for, the multifaceted cultures and identities of our customers. Diversity refers to all of the ways we differ, with respect for differences in race, gender identity and expression, age, ethnicity, disabilities (seen and unseen), family or marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, education, religion, and all the ways we may identify as a community. Inclusion is the state of being heard, recognized, and valued. It’s about creating a sense of belonging for every individual and a trust that “you deserve to be here.”
At Squarespace, our Diversity & Inclusion efforts focus on uplifting the experiences and perspectives of our underrepresented employees and doing the work that draws out the best in all of us. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are one way we ensure we do this.
ERGs were formalized at Squarespace in August of 2018, although our employees were building community long before we launched our ERG Program. As of today, we have 11 ERGs with chapters across our office locations. ERGs are crucial to fostering a diverse, inclusive, equitable and culturally connected workplace. By creating a
supportive community for their members, sharing their community with the company through events and programming, and by acting as strategic partners to maximize business impact, they are an increasingly important part of our culture and growth as a company.
