"I had a baby half way through my time at wfm. when I told my bosses I was pregnant, I was demoted a lower paying position. I was devastated! I had to interview for a different position where I was paid a better wage.I saved up enough pto and had short term disability which allowed me to take 3.5 months off for fmla, because they don't have maternity leave. I was lucky for that but it was a struggle financially, even with a husband working full time. when I returned they were extremely unhelpful and inflexible about my schedule. Despite having been a "valued employee" for about 2 years prior. i was pushed in to part time, paid a lesser wage and ultimately quit. I had to attend mandatory meetings at night with my little 4-5 month old baby strapped to my chest. very disappointing."

"customer service isn't very flexible for women re: childcare etc... I was demoted and paid a lower wage when they found out I was pregnant. "

"I had saved up PTO in case I ever got pregnant and needed to use it as my maternity leave. I was lucky that I saved it all up. Whole Foods doesn't offer maternity leave which is awful! I saw many babies being born to co-workers in my 3 years of employment there. Most of the women had to come right back to work and others just quit."
