"Talk to other women as much as possible - everyone goes for coffee all the time, and this is how business is really done. Moreover, the informal gossip network is the best way both to find new opportunities, and also to avoid the worst managers (or offenders) within the institution. "

"While I gained great experience working as a short term consultant (STC), having no benefits--especially no healthcare or paid time off--and no job security is a definite no-go that I would not recommend. Only work here in a staff position. Assurances of job security after working as an STC almost never turn out."

"They rely heavily on short term consultants, which offers a lot of flexibility of you're a new mother, but is difficult for if you're early in your career and able to take on more work than is allowed under the STC contract. "

"The hours are long; it is tough to go from a contract to a FT position if you are American; meetings are competitive. On the other hand, the health benefits are great."
