      Software Engineering Technology Analyst

      New York

I just finished my first year as a Software Engineer in the Technology Analyst Program, a program for recent college grads that ends with a job placement in a specific department. Software engineers in the program focus on improving the design, analytics, development, coding, and testing of JPMorgan Chase’s software and products. Right now, I’m focused on automation, which is the where technology is moving. It’s a hot topic and we are looking at new ways to deliver on this for our clients and customers.

I always associated a job at a bank with being a teller. I never realized there were so many opportunities for a technology career. Until you’re in it, you don’t really think about all the technical work that goes into a transaction. It’s this technical work that allows us to creatively support millions of customers, clients, and employees worldwide.

When it comes to technology, you have the opportunity to wear so many different hats here. We have an agile work environment where we’re always interacting with team members, learning from each other, and working to solve problems together. You might expect to find this type of environment at a startup, not at a large firm. But, it definitely exists at JPMorgan Chase.

      Branch Manager at Chase

      Houston, TX

I’ve been a branch manager for over 10 years with various lateral promotions throughout this time. I started as a branch manager back in New Jersey, where my branch total deposit and investment balances were about $60 million with 5 employees. At my current branch, we have over $850 million in deposits and investment balances, and are planning to reach $1 billion by the end of the year.

I am a member of the Culture Council at JPMorgan Chase and was nominated by my manager when I first started. On a regional level, we gather at a conference to think about what we can do for the local employees and our communities. We also coordinate a career fair where we have representatives from different areas who come in and speak to branch employees so they can get more exposure to all of the opportunities at Chase.

Additionally, I am a mentor to branch managers and help with their career growth. I am also a member of resource groups such as BOLD, and Women on the Move, and am recently part of the VP Engagement Program – where VPs from the firm periodically gather in our local areas. JPMorgan Chase is all about endless career opportunities – and there are tons of resources to help us get there. These opportunities help us advance our careers and continue our career growth.

My advice to women would be to go for new opportunities, even if it’s not what you’re used to and you may get a little uncomfortable. Try to challenge yourself and go for new things; you will never know what will come out of it until you put yourself into a new position. Never underestimate the power of feedback. Strive to be open to feedback so you can improve your skills and abilities and become more self-aware. It will only make you better. Be sure to network as well, so you can share ideas and become more encouraged to keep going.

Vice President, TS Digital Channels Team

      New York, New York

I joined J.P. Morgan 13 years ago and I’ve been in my current position as a Treasury Services Digital Channels Product Manager since May 2017. My career at the firm kicked off with its two-year rotational analyst program, a great opportunity that exposes employees to different lines of businesses. Over the years, I have gained Product Manager experience across checks, prepaid card and liquidity.

Currently, I’m responsible for optimizing our Treasury Services Digital Channels sales communication strategy. This consists of creating resources to support the global sales teams in explaining our innovative solutions to clients around the world. A key aspect of my role is delivering client feedback to help shape the future product roadmap for digital channels (such as J.P. Morgan Access® & host-to-host).

I’ve been married 10 years and have two daughters, under five-years-old.  My goal (both at work and at home) is to be relentlessly organized to stay on top of everything, whether it be a work deadline or remembering “crazy sock day” at my daughter’s school.

I’m an advocate for obtaining a mentor you can trust and who is in the financial industry.  I was lucky to have found my mentor through the J.P. Morgan LEAP, Leadership Acceleration Program, for women Vice Presidents and have served as a mentor to numerous Global Treasury Management analysts as well. Additionally, I’m involved in “Women on the Move,” which helps our female employees think holistically about their current career paths.

My advice to women looking to take their career to the next level is to network vigorously in the areas that interest you. This will help you become more knowledgeable, but stay top of mind when an opportunity does arise.  Be persistent yet patient.  Lastly, your work output should speak for itself. Do amazing work, and amazing work projects will come your way.

It’s an exciting time to work in financial services! We’re on a digital transformation journey that has already changed the way we live. At J.P. Morgan we’re changing the way we work, too. On our Digital Channels team we truly listen to our clients, invest heavily in our products and deliver innovative solutions.
