My experience at GAO Tek as an unpaid HR intern was overall very positive because I got real, hands-on exposure to HR functions from day one. I was involved in tasks like resume screening, shortlisting candidates, coordinating with applicants for interviews, and maintaining HR databases. This gave me a practical understanding of how recruitment and talent management actually work in a fast-paced tech company. The team was professional and supportive — whenever I had doubts about a task, supervisors and other interns were ready to guide me. I also really appreciated the flexibility of a remote internship. It helped me balance my studies while learning corporate communication, email etiquette, and time management. Working in a disciplined, task-oriented environment taught me accountability and how to meet deadlines consistently. Overall, it strengthened my foundation in HR operations and gave me confidence to pursue a career in this field.
