Until it IPOs or is acquired, the options have no real value only perceived value.
In my experience, it’s been pretty cut and dried what options are offered (usually ratio to salary). Unless you’re an engineer, c suite or have some incredibly high value skills, there is usually wiggle room in options.
The process of valuing options is heavily regulated by security regulators so you cannot revalue.
Unfortunately, no one has a crystal ball and can predict the future on options.
Sometimes you get nothing and sometimes you see BIG payouts with an IPO or acquisition.

I happen to live in Southern California where the job market still favors the employee and the competition for talent remains fierce. I was just laid off and received strong interest immediately but want to take a month off to regroup and relax.
So am I worried? No. Most layoffs have been very targeted and are not trending across industries or sectors. I've seen these layoffs coming since before the pandemic and am surprised they took this long to arrive.
