How can I better handle my workload when my boss refuses to help?
I have been working at burnout pace since last summer (one weekend off a month, maybe; 12 hour days = the norm). My boss asked me to fast-track a project this week, and I agreed to do it to help him meet his goals, but let him know that it would mean I needed some flexibility on deadlines later this month. He said that wouldn't be possible and that if I needed help, I could ask one of my coworkers to take on one of those projects. The trouble is that I know my peers are overwhelmed by their caseloads as well and knowing that, I feel uncomfortable asking for their help. My boss insists that he does not want to get involved in reallocating projects amongst us. Does anyone have ideas for how to navigate this? Thank you!
