I have been struggling with feeling confident in my decision to send my girls back to school. It seems that every 5 mins I read another "expert" opinion online about WHY kids shouldn't go back or why virtual will ruin our kids forever. At any rate, I have been feeling this overwhelming guilt..
WELL... This morning I participated in a Lean In Circle for working moms put on by the Women's Leadership and Development group at my work and I feel SO much more inspired. I wanted to share these words of encouragement with others.
Are you giving yourself enough credit? Are you giving yourself permission to feel confident in your decisions? Are you allowing yourself to say (to yourself and others?): "This is MY decision (and mine alone!) and I feel confident that it's best for my family!"
We also talked about once school starts and we're being pulled in 1,000 different directions that we should be giving ourselves permission to walk away and turn off to spend time with our kids -- even for just small 15-min blocks of time.
Lastly, I want to inspire others to choose 5 things they will do moving forward to make their working mom lives easier when school starts (they can be little or big). For instance, I'm going to actually schedule and TAKE my vacation time.
What will you do for YOU, mamas??
