A found a great role at a 1000+ company and did a lot of networking to finding someone who knew someone who worked there. I made a bold move (for me) and reached out to a friend of a friend to ask if they could introduce me to their mutual friend who works for this company. I know… it’s complicated. But it was so worth it.
We connected virtually over coffee and he was more than happy to refer to me for the role. Needless to say, I got the job!
Referrals are powerful. And today, getting a referral is a secret weapon to get through the crowd and be seen by recruiters, HR, and hiring managers. Anytime an internal employee refers someone, that person has a high chance of getting extra bonus points within their efforts or might even help them receive a solid review.
Have your referred or been referred by someone before? How'd it go??
