Received a Job Offer

Hello FGB Ladies, Yesterday I received a job offer, I can say it isn't the dream job but in these tough times I feel I have to take it just to get back on my feet again. The salary is not the greatest the job gets me back out there, it offers both work at home and in the office, so if Mother Nature is right we are going to have a bad winter here so working at home in the winter could be very good. I would like to thank all of you for the advise given over the past few months and the support to help us all navigate the COVID19 crisis. I know it may not be the perfect job with all the peaks but it is a job and I was brought up to work no matter what the job was as long as it paid the bills that's all that was important. Again thank you all for the support.

Congratulations! One thing you might do before you start is to make a list of what you want to accomplish in this new job. It could be learning a new skill, building a network, or taking on projects that you will be able to use on your resume to position yourself for the next position. Keep that list and refine it as you are in the role so you are setting yourself up for your future role doing more of what you want to do.

Congrats! This is great news, especially considering the way things currently are. There’s nothing that says you can’t continue looking to find what you truly want, but this can certainly take a little weight off in the meantime. Who knows! You may even end up really liking this job and may later have a chance at a raise or promotion.

I too was out of work for just over one year. I really wanted to return to a job in an office field. With the personal need to get working again and wanting to save some $$ in order to put my home on the market and move, I accepted a customer service position at Home Depot. The hours change every 3 weeks, I am on my feet for my shifts and I still have a lot to learn. I understand your quandary. After ~one month, I have decided to stick it out and continue to look for the job I really want. Having this job has lowered my stress level and I am able to bank my total paycheck every 2 weeks. It is not great, but it will do until I can make a move to what I really want. Good luck to you.

I'm so overwhelmed by the out pouring of support. This support means so much and let's me know I'm not alone and there are other women in the same boat as I am. I'm looking forward to starting this new journey and making it may own and helping the company grow and improve on it's purchasing processes. Today I start filling out all the necessary paperwork to officially become an employee. Thank you all again for the words of encouragement and advise on what sites to go to for jobs. I appreciated all the support and will update everyone in a few weeks and let you all know how the job is going.
