How do you overcome being passed over for the louder and inept colleague.
I can't complain, I've had an amazing career and continue to have huge successes and opportunities, but the one thing I can't seem to put my finger on is how some of my peers continue to find the proverbial lucky horseshoe and move up the ladder when they are completely inept, have failed over and over at delivering anything of value and the only thing I can see that they do well is be the loudest person in the room and spout opinions and commentary, mostly about themselves.
How do you ensure that you are seen when you refuse to just speak for the sake of speaking?
I've never needed to be the smartest person in the room and I know I'm terrible at self- promoting my accomplishments and abilities, but shouldn't the work and value speak loud enough on its own?
I'd love to hear people's thoughts.
