I recently started at a new job (Mid April) And due to having existing relationships there I have been a bit in the spotlight. Which as you all know can be both good and bad!
I recently stepped in to help a client who had made an error on their end but wanted to blame it on us. We fixed the error for them, however in the middle I made a mistake in some of the work product I sent to them.
So now I am in the hot seat - rightly so - because I made an error.
Question is how do you approach your boss to explain? Or even apologize? He scheduled a meeting for us tomorrow and the client is already upset because they still think 'we' made the original error. So now do I apologize? And if so how? I already told him about the error and accepted responsibility so it's not that I am trying to hide it, just trying to come out on the other side somewhat unscathed.
