Early Retirements

Outside of Cobra, if someone decides to retire early, what benefits can they get for medical/perscription/dental/vision/etc. if they are not old enough to receive Medicare?

If you went to college, check with you alumni association. The alumni may have a group policy that you can join. Also, if you belong to a professional organization check the benefits. Some have medical and life insurance policies that you can join.

Congratulations! I only know about prescription, try GoodRX. Many doctors offices in my area recommend them. However, check with your pharmacy first, not all allow it. Good luck, I hope your future is blue sky.

In my experience, if you meet income guidelines you may qualify for state subsidized health insurance, check your state's marketplace for more information. You may also elect to continue coverage under COBRA but that tends to be very expensive.
