I am looking to get into a new field now after 10+ years of being in the same field since graduating with a Master's Degree 15 years ago. But I am afraid my resume is getting rejected for the new field because I have listed all the jobs I ever professionally held on my resume since my graduate degree and the hiring managers aren't seeing the value from my certificates or courses for the new field I want to be in.
I want to limit my resume to show only the jobs (titles, company, and duties) I worked at within the past 7 years. I feel that before that, I was in roles and they no longer serve their purpose to list those. Is it OK to limit the number of jobs I present on my resume or are we supposed to list all the jobs we have held (those professionally linked to career, not random side gigs)? I want to make more space on my resume to describe my certificates and new professional things I've done in the past 5 years so these hiring managers can see how qualified I am for the new line of work I want to get into. Please advise me.
