Hi FGBs!
I am looking for some HR insight and/or opinions. I am recently entertaining a move from a company I use to love, but am realizing it will never change. I have interviewed for two different positions with two companies. I am currently an HRM, and previously an HR Generalist, with prior HRIS/Compensation experience. I am strongly considering a direction change to an HR Business Analyst role which is a senior level role, and am having minor reservations of the future perception on my resume. This role will be a close partner to the generalist function, but will be collaborating with the senior leadership to provide guidance on analytics and budget recommendations as it pertains to their departments/HR/training/etc.
Now.. I will be able to explain the role change easily, but want to hear from my fellow FGBs about any HR position movements you may have experienced.

I’m not specifically in an HR role within a company but I h the ink having that diversity within HR shows your willingness to adapt and pivot when necessary as well as an eagerness to learn new functions. If that direction feels exciting for you, go for it?

In my experience, movement across HR positions was highly valued as it makes you a better generalist and a more rounded specialist. I moved across HR positions for more than 15 years, and I also crossed back into the business groups - my HR experience helped me to be an effective leader! Leverage your skills, build new perspectives, and grow your capabilities for broader HR roles!

This is great to know that others do/have done this.

The only issue I see here is if you are managing people as an HRM and would want to go back to that, it may be challenging after moving back into an individual contributor role. Not impossible, just possibly challenging. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like a bad move at all!

Thank you Krystin! This is where I kept landing, even after weighing all the pros and cons. I could definitely speak my way through the transition, but I would have to pass the automation screening first. The opportunity was and is a great one.
Than you again for the advice!
